Ships loaded with American tanks, self-propelled howitzers and hundreds of other military vehicles arrived today at the port of Bremerhaven in northern Germany on the way to Eastern Europe where they will join NATO forces deterring potential Russian aggression.
About 3,500 troops from the 4th Infantry Division from Fort Carson in Colorado will join its outgoing equipment in the next two weeks.
The deployment of these forces marks the beginning of a new phase of “Operation Atlantic determination” (Atlantic Resolve), which provides a permanent presence of American armored brigade in Europe.
They will first consolidate in Poland and then deploy in seven countries, from Estonia to Bulgaria, where apparently growing fear due to increased militant activities of Russia in the region.
Headquarters of US forces would be in Germany.
