I’ve decided to focus mainly on my area of passion which borders on harnessing the vast potential of the internet to achieve your goals.  So, expect my posts to be related to internet technologies and how to benefit from them.

One of my favourite websites is www.alexa.com.  I will try and explain why this is so and what alexa can do for you.

Alexa Internet was founded in 1996 by Brewster Kahle and Bruce Gilliat. The idea was to improve internet searching by tracking user decisions and using that data to aid future searches.  In 1999, Alexa was acquired by Amazon.com for about $250 million.

Today, Alexa can be used for several purposes. If you’re an internet marketer you don’t have to beat about the bush in trying to determine where to advertise your products.  For example, if your target is Nigeria, you might want to check alexa listing of topsites in Nigeria.  This will help you know which sites Nigerians are visiting more.  If you advertise with those sites, more Nigerians are going to see your ad.  Secondly, if you’re an internet entrepreneur, you can understand customer behaviour by studying what they are visiting via alexa.  This can help you craft a better product for your customer.   You know when it comes to marketing, its not about what you want or love, but what your customer wants.

So, before you waste another web ad, check out where the current traffic is flowing from.

The total number of websites in the world according to netcraft as @ August 08 is about 176 million.  The total number of internet users in the world is about 1.4 billion people.  See internetworldstatistics.com for more details.  The bad news is that, out of this number of users, only about 3.5% comes from Africa.  Whereas Africa constitues approximately 14% of the world’s population.

There is the law of gravity, and there is the law of aerodynamics.   Gravity pulls things down but aerodynamics breaks that law. 

You can over-rule a law if you have a superior one.  So when you’re being inhibited or opposed by a law, you have to find a higher law. 

There is usually a superior law above any law that stands in your way.  The law of gravity is overuled by the law of aerodynamics.  Even the law of sin and death can be overuled by the law of Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. 

Every limits you’re facing, can be overcome by a superior force.  Every problem has a solution. Poisons have antedotes.  Find them, use them, you’ll literally be unstoppable

You have to do a lot of crazy things to succeed.  ‘Most winners are ex-loosers who got M.A.D.  If you want to experience what you’ve never experienced before, you’ll have to be willing to do what you’ve never done before.  If you want to achieve the extra-ordinary, you’ll have to do extra-ordinary things.  ‘Average’ is your enemy.  The norm is why life is boring. 

The word ‘Exceptional’ implies a deviation from the rules.  Go and check the Guiness book of records.  It contains only exceptional things.  You may have to break some rules/standards already set by the world.  Sometimes these rules/standards are only limitations set by people.  Don’t let the world limit you.  No one knows what you can do.  Only the manufacturer knows what he built in the product.  Only God knows what He’s put on your inside.  Let me give you some examples of people that did crazy things yet broke world records/barriers. This morning, I was listening to an audio by Stephen Covey, where a certain woman was talking about her mission statement. 

What’s my mission staement? I asked myself.  I know my mission but had never sat down to craft it into a mission statement.  I also imagined that not many people have done this.  If you don’t have a written down mission statement, you’re likely to be neck deep with many activities you shouldn’t be doing in the first place.

Have you realised that every serious enterprise has a mission statement?  It also follows that every serious minded individual should have a written mission statement. 

‘So how do I write a mission statement’? You may ask.  Its pretty straight forward but not easy.  You’ll need to answer a few tough questions.  The answers to those questions will guide you in crafting a mission statement.
